ProZone and Polar: at the
heart of performance analysis
The market leading heart rate
and performance analysis brands Polar and ProZone
have entered into a unique partnership to develop
information and analysis products to improve individual
and team performance.
Already working with leading lights in the world
of sport including key football clubs, managers
and referees, both Polar and ProZone
are looking to revolutionise the way footballers
and athletes monitor, analyse and improve their
performance.
With extensive experience in both Football and
Rugby, ProZone have analysed over 4,500 matches
during the last eight years including the majority
of FA Premier League fixtures, numerous Championship
and Scottish Premier League matches, in addition
to supporting National teams, and covering a range
of leagues in Europe and the Middle East.
ProZone and Polar believe in aligning their products
and services into the infrastructure of each club
they work with to deliver performance feedback
that enables managers and players to optimise
individual and team output.
From youth academies to first team squads, our
innovative products benefit players of all abilities.
Developed in conjunction with world class coaches
and players, the combination of ProZone’s
pre-match scouting and post match analysis alongside
Polar’s pioneering heart rate monitoring
provides superior performance analysis.
ProZone breaks performance into over 50 objective
categories, generating over 2,750 ‘events’
per match for coaches, managers, trainers and
players to evaluate. By accurately tracking each
player’s movements every 1/25th second for
the entire duration of the match, ProZone offers
a unique and fundamental service that has become
an integral element of teams’ preparations.
The combination of Polar and ProZone’s
two datasets allows comprehensive physical (endurance,
speed and power) and tactical (receiving and distribution,
possession, shape, attacking plays) analysis of
individuals, units or teams for specific matches
or longer periods to identify longer term trends.
Malcolm Douglas, Managing Director, Polar Electro
UK (Ltd), said: “We are delighted to have
entered into a relationship with such a highly
respected and credible partner as ProZone. “The
knowledge, understanding and analysis of sporting
performance is at the heart of both brands, so
we are confident that this partnership will provide
both coaches and players with the technology and
support they require to take their training and
performance to a new level.
“Alongside ProZone’s expertise in
performance analysis, we are extremely excited
by the opportunity to provide more clubs and players
with an insight into how Polar’s innovative
products can help them bring sophisticated heart
rate based training to their coaching and preparations.”
Phil Tordoff, Head of Product Management and Strategy
for ProZone, echoed those comments.
He added: “Our partnership with Polar represents
a significant step in bringing together training
information and live match analysis;
our mutual desire is to provide the coaching and
analyst community with richer information throughout
all levels of the game.
“Polar’s leading edge products, technologies
and research are complimentary to ProZone’s
match analysis products and further joint developments
will bring new and unique information to the community.”
