West Brom Return to ProZone
Over four months have passed
since West Brom renewed their association with
their original match analysis providers ProZone.
A former ProZone client, the famous Midlands
club used an alternative system over the past
season before returning to the ProZone fold.
Two key factors persuaded Albion to re-sign with
ProZone.
The club were convinced that the recently published
independent research confirms ProZone’s
multiple camera angles and, more importantly,
locality provide the most accurate data, by far,
currently available in the football analysis industry.
But, perhaps just as important as the validation
of the ProZone data, the new pricing models introduced
by ProZone are proving incredibly attractive to
football clubs at all levels of the professional
- and, in some cases, even amateur - game.
Naturally, if a team is to invest in post-match
analysis, it is imperative that the data be as
accurate as possible and Richard Hawkins, Albion’s
Strength and Conditioning Coach for more than
two years, has been delighted with that aspect
of ProZone’s delivery.
Richard said: “ProZone plays an integral
part in the analysis of player performances and
is a key component of the feedback players receive.
“Having experienced other match analysis
suppliers and seen at first hand the quality control
procedures that are in place at ProZone I have
100% confidence in the validity and reliability
of the data presented.
“This is supported by the recent publication
in The International Journal of Performance Analysis,
and, with more research to follow, the reputation
of ProZone will continue to grow.”
Another attractive feature of the ProZone package
lies in the fact that we offer a fully inclusive
service to the club, covering all levels from
first team to Academy.
And Richard added: “The product developments
that have taken place over the last 12 months
has enhanced the service provided and has added
to the efficiency and quality of the role of the
analyst/ sports scientist/conditioning coach in
the club.”
Albion’s Head of Performance Analysis Lee
Darnbrough agrees: “Having experienced and
used other analysis systems during recent seasons
the re-introduction of ProZone into the performance
analysis structure at WBA has brought many additional
benefits from a coaching and performance perspective.
“In addition to ProZone3 and MatchViewer
products used at first team level, the inclusion
of MatchInsight, PlayBack and Bookmark has meant
that we have improved our live match day analysis
and also improved the delivery of performance
analysis and coach/player education within the
structure of the Academy.
“This will undoubtedly add to the development
of players, from Academy through to first team
in creating a common culture and framework of
player reflection and development to ultimately
benefit West Bromwich Albion Football Club.”
ProZone’s Head of Business Development
Barry McNeill was delighted to renew the company’s
business relationship with Albion.
Barry said: “The return of West Bromwich
Albion FC as a valued and prestigious customer
is critical to maintaining ProZone’s position
as brand leader throughout the performance analysis
marketplace.
“The win-back of such an important club
is a testimony to our levels of service, product
development and research activity which significantly
differentiates ProZone from all other match analysis
providers and we are confident of increasing our
customer base in the Premiership before next season.”
Albion have signed up for ProZone3, the world’s
leading post-match analysis system.
ProZone3 is designed to encourage user interactivity
and allows for comprehensive performance analysis
based on physical, technical and tactical aspects
of the game.
Tony Mowbray, a ProZone advocate with Hibernian
and Ipswich, was delighted to find West Brom already
using the system upon his arrival. Tony said:
“Football today is very driven by sports
science and the statistics that ProZone present
are invaluable to the coaching staff.
“The analysis that can be produced by ProZone
can be used to motivate players and educate them
about parts of their play and fitness.
“ProZone is an invaluable tool for a modern-day
coaching staff of any football club. I’m
delighted we have it and, hopefully, it will play
a part in helping us be successful.”
