U.S. Soccer Federation extends long-standing relationship with Prozone

U.S. Soccer Federation extends long-standing relationship with Prozone

Under the new agreement, Prozone will focus on the U.S. Women’s National Team and U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Department, which will utilize a combination of PROZONE3 and MATCHVIEWER analysis to fully integrate a comprehensive analytical system of video, technical and physical analysis.

Applying consistency of data across all analysis at all levels offers a unique and holistic approach to performance analysis within the league and national structure. Stewart Mairs Prozone Americas’ Operations Manager, commented on the recent renewal “The new agreement includes the use of our mobile camera system, a unique service  that offers a truly all-inclusive approach allowing for continuity of information for U.S. Soccer to compare and benchmark physical player tracking data and athletic performance from any match, from Academy to National Teams.”

U.S. Soccer now has the ability to monitor all aspects of player and post match performance at every level of the game using the Prozone 4-camera mobile unit, which has become popular with professional and amateur teams in North and South America. Like the stadium-installed camera system, the mobile unit produces video-linked data used for comprehensive analysis of both physical and technical performance outputs.

The U.S. Women’s National Team, under the direction of Pia Sundhage, has already begun using the mobile camera unit during recent friendly matches and Olympic qualifying.  Sundhage commented; ”The Prozone portable camera system has allowed us to analyze technical and physical performance more effectively. The staff has been able to improve our coaching abilities and provide valuable feedback to players about their individual performances.”

The powerful combination of physical and tactical performance information allows management and coaching staff to objectively and reliably analyse every aspect of the game.  Combining team, unit and player analysis the data is presented through interactive distribution maps, 2D animation and video-enhanced physical, technical and tactical performance insights.

Where our leading installed tracking system is not present the mobile system provides a cost-effective solution to capture physical/fitness performance data both home and away and present via our world leading interactive coaching tools.

Currently the Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS), Colo Colo (Chilean Primera), the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) and the University of Florida Women’s Soccer Team are among those who have implemented the Prozone mobile system, allowing the capture and analysis of physical performance data regardless of stadium.

Andy Calvert, Prozone Stadia and IT Manager, commented, “Since the advent of the mobile camera unit in early 2010, it’s become a very useful alternative to the traditional 8-camera installed system. While the installed system has the benefit of being controlled directly by Prozone HQ, and therefore no match-day interaction is needed from the client providing the most accurate physical analysis on the market today , the mobile unit is very simple to use and offers the flexibility of analyzing first team home and away matches, reserve matches and academy matches.”

Andrew Opatkiewicz, Prozone America’s Business Development Manager commented; “We’ve developed a robust, boxed product, which uses high-quality technology and is easy to use. The mobile unit produces video for physical player tracking analysis where it otherwise wouldn’t be available. The next step is to evolve the system to provide users even more functionality, and future developments include a camera system which can be used to capture panoramic video and real-time player tracking.”

With an established and expanding Prozone office in Chicago, following Prozone’s success and reputation in the region and across Europe, Prozone have been pioneering the use of performance analysis in North, Central, and South America, and we look forward to continuing to support a growing list of over 70 clients across the region.
