The primary international competition in Southeast Asia, the tournament featured eight teams, with Thailand reaching the final before narrowly losing to Singapore over two legs.
 
Using our MATCHVIEWER platform to facilitate detailed pre and post-match analysis, the War Elephants produced a series of strong performances, topping Group A with three victories before overcoming Malaysia 3-1 in the semi-final.
 
Speaking about the importance of performance analysis is the modern game, Winfried Schafer, Head Coach of Thailand, said, “To continuously improve teamwork and individual performance, and to achieve constant success in modern football, it is necessary to analyse games in the most minute detail and on the highest level possible.
 
“The entire spectrum of data analysis that Prozone offers is exactly the kind of consistency and information that a coach needs nowadays as professional assistance.”
 
Currently sitting 136th in the world, Thailand have risen quickly in the FIFA rankings of late, moving up from 152nd to achieve their highest ranking since last September as a result of their Suzuki Cup performances.
  
“Prozone provided motivation to the players in the Thai national team,” said Ratthapol Anupapimol, Prozone’s Thai representative and a member of the national team’s technical staff. “The players were very receptive to the feedback when we used Prozone analysis in the team meetings after and before our matches.
 
“Prozone helped us to clarify the players’ jobs and made it easy to explain to the player what they should be doing on the field.”
