Simon Edgar – Marathon Des Sables 2011
Prozone congratulate Simon Edgar, Prozone Marketing Manager, on successfully completing the Marathon Des Sables, a 6 day / 155 mile endurance race across the Sahara Desert in Morocco.
With temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Simon endured the heat and desert over 155.8 miles, finishing an inspirational 143rd out of 850 and 19th Britain in the endurance race dubbed the “toughest footrace on earth.”
The equivalent of 5 ½ regular marathons, carrying everything needed for the duration, with speeds up to 12 km an hour, over 36 Hours 51 minutes, this is truly a remarkable achievement and demonstration of mental stamina.

In addition Simon has so far raised nearly £5000 for his designated charity; Cardiac Risk in the Young.
