Prozone to present expert college analysis panel at 2013 NSCAA Convention

At 11am on Saturday 19th January, Prozone will be presenting an expert panel session at the 2013 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis, one of the world's largest and most prestigious soccer coaching forums.

Featuring a number of North America’s most successful college coaches, the session will be moderated by Robin Russell, a UEFA Consultant and CEO of Sports Path International, and will discuss the role performance analysis plays in the development of the college game and its athletes.
 
Focussing on the skills and tools required for effective performance analysis, the panel will discuss the effect new technologies have made on the coaching process. Evaluating best practice and the ways in which access to performance analysis can influence talent identification and player recruitment, the session will offer a fascinating insight into the continued development of soccer at college level.

Anson Dorrance (University of North Carolina)
 
One of the most successful college coaches of all-time in any discipline, Dorrance has led UNC to a phenomenal 21 NCAA Championship titles in his 33 years in charge. Famous for his ability in the field of talent identification, 19 Tar Heels have been named National Player of the Year under his stewardship.
 
A central figure in the establishment of a national college tournament for women, Dorrance has been a major driving force in women’s soccer throughout his career. A member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, Dorrance led the US Women’s National Team to its first World Cup title in 1991 and has coached some of the greatest women’s players in history including Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly.
 
Mike Jacobs (University of Evansville)
 
Head Coach of the University of Evansville Men’s Team, Jacobs has built a strong reputation for talent identification and player development during his 19 years in college soccer. Now in his seventh season with the Purple Aces, Jacobs has guided the team to five winning seasons since 2005.
 
An assistant at Duke during the Blue Devils’ run to the 2004 College Cup and 2005 ACC Championship, Jacobs has coached many players during his career who’ve since turned professional including Brad Guzan and Darrius Barnes. Heavily involved with coaching development at all levels of the game, Jacobs is the current NSCAA Vice President of Events.
 
Alan Kirkup (University of Florida)
 
A former Manchester United player, Kirkup has enjoyed a highly successful coaching career over the last three decades. A former Head Coach at Southern Methodist University, the University of Maryland and the University of Arkansas, Kirkup has been an Assistant Coach at the University of Florida since 2005.
 
A former Southwest Conference Coach of the Year, Kirkup also holds a master’s degree in Physical Education from Eastern Illinois University and has previously worked for Southampton FC as an Academy Coach.
 
Marlon LeBlanc (West Virginia University)
 
The current Head Coach of West Virginia University Men’s Team, LeBlanc began his coaching career as an assistant at Penn State where he was also responsible for recruitment, video analysis and game-day operations. After helping the Nittany Lions to four NCAA tournament appearances in five years, LeBlanc was hired by WVU in 2006.
 
Widely regarded as one of the foremost performance and recruitment experts in college soccer, LeBlanc has guided WVU to four NCAA Tournament appearances during his time with the Mountaineers. Named Soccer America National Coach of the Year in 2006, LeBlanc’s team have consistently ranked amongst the best in the country during his tenure.
 
Running from 16th to 20th January, the NSCAA Convention brings together over 5,000 coaches and soccer businesses for a week of lectures, discussions, practical demonstrations and exhibitions.
 
The premier event of its kind, the convention attracts eminent figures in soccer from around the world and has become an important forum for the discussion of coaching development and innovation in North America.
