The Head Coaches and Technical Directors of the top 20 countries who took part in the AFC Asian Cup 2011 attended the conference on 30 November-2 December 2011 to discuss their team’s preparation and performance.

With player development, and technical recommendations at the core of the conference, AFC Technical Director Jim Selby, commented on the importance of Prozone analysis to the AFC Member Associations and the AFC Technical Study Group Committee in attendance;

"The AFC Asian Cup 2011 Conference was an opportunity for the National Coaches and Technical Directors of our member associations to evaluate, reflect and review their performances in the Asian Cup 2011 in Qatar. Prozone delivered a technical and trend review of performance which helps us to ascertain where we are, where we are going and how we get there."

"Prozone’s analysis, which compared the performance of Asian teams against world football, helps us in understanding the characteristics of top coaches, top teams and top players."

The Conference, the first ever for the continent’s premier competition, aimed to provide examples of the best national football in Asia as an impetus for better on-field performance for all Asian national teams, with a focus on technical and tactical playing trends in Asia, competition format, refereeing matters, and future tournament proposals.

Bench-marked against international and European competition standards, Martin Bland, Prozone Business Development Manager for the Middle East, presented a comprehensive tournament analysis and recommendations for the effective use and application of performance data;

“Impressive goal statistics and successful pass rates were part of the eye-opening statistics from the AFC Asian Cup 2011 finals in Qatar last January. By providing objective team, player and positional analysis in relation to key performance indicators Prozone could provide data that can be applied in training and development programmes for all Asian teams across the continent.”

Prozone will provide further analysis to the AFC Member Association Technical Directors and National Youth Team Coaches at the AFC First International Youth Football Conference in February 2012.
