Prozone clients' success in U.S. continues with a 1-0 win over Louisville giving the University of Akron its first NCAA Championship in any sport.
Akron has been using Prozone’s MATCHVIEWER for both post-match and oppositional analysis to aid their success in the Men’s College Cup Season.
Akron's victory over Louisville in the NCAA Division One Men's Soccer Championship game was a year in the making for the Akron Zips who had gone into the national title game last season to only just lose out on the title after an undefeated season in the final against Virginia.
"I am proud of my team," said Akron Head Coach Caleb Porter. "It's been a long journey. It started Dec. 14 after a bitter, painful loss to Virginia last year, which ended on one kick. For these guys to recover from that; move on and work even harder is an absolute tremendous credit to these guys. They have been hungry all year; dug deep, kept going, kept fighting and refused to lose.”
Jared Embick, Akron’s Associate Men’s Soccer Coach, also had this to say about Prozone’s contribution to the Zips success:
“Prozone was an important part of our Championship season. The detailed video analysis Prozone provided to our players and team was very helpful in improving our team tactically and our players individually.”
Stewart Mairs, Prozone U.S. Operations Manager congratulated Akron on their title win:
“Everyone at Prozone would like to congratulate Akron on another superb season culminating on their first NCAA title win. Akron has been the nation's most dominant team the past two seasons and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship with them in years to come.”
