Evaluating Performance: The LMA School of Football Management Online Course
In 2012, the LMA School of Football Management launched e-learning courses in conjunction with Prozone to assist coaches in the evaluation of player and team performance.
The course is intended for coaches who work (or aspire to work) with professional, semi-professional, elite youth or college players.
Here are the views of some recent participants:
“The course has broadened my view on how I can use information through analysis and evaluation to benefit player and team performance by tailoring training and game preparation more specifically. If you’re a manager or coach wishing to progress in the game this course will have great value for you.”
(Kevin Blackwell, Manager, Bury FC)
“The course information is outstanding. It gives coaches some ideas on how to take your own style of play and then create KPIs that apply to that given style. The benchmarks and statistics give us an idea of what to shoot for in relation to high level teams.”
(John Pascarella, Coach, Sporting Kansas City)
“This course has input from some of the best minds in football and I found the course stimulation and inspiring. In a highly-charged, emotional game, the course reminds us of what works practically as a base for our dreams and goals.”
(Willie Donachie, Coach, Newcastle United)
Focusing on improving how coaches evaluate players and teams, the course highlights good practice at English, French, Dutch and Turkish clubs.
The course materials also include over 300 video interview clips from respected managers including Roy Hodgson, Hope Powell, Sam Allardyce, Dario Gradi, Gareth Southgate and Howard Wilkinson. There are also valuable insights from a range of academy directors and respected performance analysts throughout Europe.
The cost of the course is £199, but Prozone are offering a promotional 20% discount at £159 until 31st January 2013.
